Fortinet Certified Trainer (FCT) Overview


The FCTs are Fortinet certified instructors who have demonstrated expertise and proficiency with Fortinet products and solutions combined with proven instructional training skills. Only Fortinet certified trainers (FCTs) meet the high standards required to deliver training in the Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE) program.

The FCTs select a Fortinet solution track. FCTs are authorized to deliver multiple courses associated with their selected solution track. Each track has specific pre-requisite eligibility and competency requirements and the requirement to complete a practical assessment successfully.

Who can Apply?

The FCT candidate must be sponsored by a Fortinet Authorized Training Center (ATC).

An FCT candidate who wants to apply for an FCT assessment must also meet the following knowledge and experience eligibility requirements:

  • Extensive technical knowledge and skills in network security and cybersecurity
  • Five years of relevant experience in network security and cybersecurity
  • Certification in the required NSE training courses
  • Five years of experience in training delivery in IT security
  • Demonstrable training facilitation and delivery skills

FCT Assessment

All prospective FCTs are required to participate in a training assessment. The assessment evaluates a candidate’s ability to maintain Fortinet’s high standard of technical knowledge and training delivery skills.

The assessment validates the candidate’s instructional skill, and ability to answer technical questions and handle lab sessions.
How can you apply?

1. Review the FCT guidelines. Consult with your sponsor and review FCT guidelines and eligibility requirements before submitting an application.

2.Submit an online application. All FCT candidates must submit an online application specifying the selected Solution track and courses of the assessment and upload the required documents.

3,Schedule an FCT assessment date. Once your application has been accepted an assessment will be scheduled.
