Course Description

In this two-day self-paced lab environment, you will be challenged to configure a variety of Fortinet products based on a set of objectives. Fortinet products in the lab include FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiAuthenticator, FortiSwitch (VM), FortiWeb, FortiMail, and FortiADC.

During the sessions, an NSE 8-certified instructor is available to answer questions and support you as you are completing tasks.

Who Should Attend

Networking and security professionals in pursuit of NSE 8 certification.

Prerequisites
  • Students must have an active NSE 4 certification. An active NSE 7 certification is highly recommended, as is hands-on experience with the products listed in the Product Versions section.
  • Technical requirements:
    • Laptop (minimum 15'' screen)
    • Stable internet connection allowing outbound access to port 443/TCP
    • A modern browser supporting HTML5 (Chrome recommended)
    • An external second monitor is highly recommended

Objectives

After completing this course, you will have a better understanding of the level and complexity of the tasks and topology that are involved with the NSE 8 practical exams. This will help you prepare for the NSE 8 practical exam, where you will face a different set of tasks and a new topology at the same complexity level.

System Requirements

To take the online format of this class, you must use a computer that has the following:

  • A high-speed Internet connection
  • An up-to-date web browser
  • A PDF viewer
  • Speakers or headphones
  • One of the following:
    • HTML 5 support
    • An up-to-date Java Runtime Environment (JRE) with Java plugin enabled in your web browser

You should use a wired Ethernet connection, not a WiFi connection. Firewalls, including Windows Firewall or FortiClient, must allow connections to the online labs.
