Course Description

In this course, you will learn about the basics of SD-WAN deployment scenarios using the Fortinet Secure SD-WAN solution. You will learn how to configure SDWAN on FortiGate and learn how SD-WAN interacts with FortiGate routing and firewall. This fundamental understanding of SD-WAN topics will help you design, deploy, maintain, and enhance SD-WAN deployments and existing SD-WAN deployment performance.

Who Should Attend

Anyone who is responsible for designing a simple Fortinet SD-WAN solution or for the day-to-day management of a Fortinet SD-WAN deployment and network operations should attend this course.

Prerequisites
  • You must have advanced knowledge of networking, and extensive hands-on experience working with FortiGate.
  • It is also recommended that you have an understanding of the topics covered in the following course, or have equivalent experience:
    • FortiGate 7.6 Administrator

  • Implement FortiOS SD-WAN solutions with FortiGate for a single device solution or small topologies
  • Configure basic and advanced SD-WAN features
  • Explain the SD-WAN route and rule lookup process
  • Use the different rule criteria and strategies available to steer traffic using SD-WAN
  • Examine how SD-WAN responds to changing link conditions
  • Troubleshoot SD-WAN routing and rule matching issues
  • Manage simple FortiOS SD-WAN solutions with FortiManager

  • Speakers or headphones
  • One of the following:
    • HTML 5 support or
    • An up-to-date Java Runtime Environment (JRE) with Java plugin enabled on your web browser

You should use a wired Ethernet connection, not a WiFi connection. Firewalls, including Windows Firewall or FortiClient, must allow connections to the online labs.
