Fortinet Certified Trainer (FCT) Overview

Fortinet certified trainers (FCTs) are certified instructors who have demonstrated expertise and proficiency with Fortinet products and solutions combined with proven instructional training skills. Only FCTs meet the high standards required to deliver training in the Fortinet Cybersecurity certification program.

FCTs commit to fulfilling the following responsibilities:

To deliver a high-quality learning experience of the NSE training material.
To keep up to date with NSE training material content.
To maintain advance-level knowledge of technology, the industry, and Fortinet products and solutions.
To facilitate and encourage a positive learning environment.

Who can Apply?

Ideally, an FCT candidate has all the following knowledge and experience:

At least five years of relevant technical experience in network security and cybersecurity.
NSE certifications.
Experience in training delivery, and demonstrable training facilitation and delivery skills.

To become FCT, the candidate must:

Be sponsored by an Authorized Training Centre.
Be located in the Authorized Territory defined in the ATC agreement of sponsoring ATC.
Speak local language of the ATC location.
Have a valid NSE4 and NSE6 in Secure Networking.
Apply using the application form on the Fortinet Training Institute learning platform to create the candidate resume.

FCT candidate acceptance/denial is at Fortinet’s sole and unique discretion.

If the candidate’s application is accepted, they will be assigned a mentor, who is a Fortinet Training Institute employee.

FCT Assessment

Candidates will be enrolled in the FCT FCP Trainer Assessment course, which provides resources for assessment that they complete with their mentor:

Module presentation from FortiOS Administrator (Candidate choice).
Technical questions and troubleshooting labs (Session 1).
Module presentation from FortiOS Administrator (Mentor choice).
Technical questions and troubleshooting labs (Session 2).

FCTs first complete the FCT Standard Trainer Assessment and teach at the NSE 4-6 level before going on to the FCT Premier Trainer Assessment.

Candidates wanting to teach at the Premier-level of the NSE program are required to take a further proctored assessment. The assessment is based on Enterprise Firewall course.

FCT Certification

The Fortinet Certified Trainer (FCT) certification authorizes trainers to deliver Fortinet NSE courses.

FCTs maintain a high standard of instructional attentiveness by satisfying FCT maintenance requirements and NSE recertifications.
